Adamawa State Deputy Governor task traditional leaders on protection of state infrastructure.

Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has called on Traditional leaders to ensure cleanliness in their domain.

 

Professor Kaletapwa Farauta made the call while inspecting some locations in Jimeta, Yola-North local government area of the State

The places visited by the Deputy Governor includes; Round about Mai-doki and Lamido Aliyu Mustapha fly-over, popularly known as Total fly over.

Professor Kaletapwa Farauta explained that, the state government has invested to give the state capital a face lift , urging traditional leaders in these areas to help the government in maintaining the infrastructure as they belongs to all.

According to her, all hands must be on deck to ensure the state capital is comparable to any state capital around the country.

The deputy governor tasked authorities concerned to live up to expectation and devise means of evacuating refuse by providing site for proper waste disposal.

Professor Farauta therefore warned that henceforth, Urban planning will be held responsible for the indiscriminate pasting of posters on government facilities and other structures, the ill practice she said has continued to deface the state capital.

Also Speaking during the inspection, the commissioner of environment Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad expressed commitment of the ministry to change the ugly trend.

A resident of Jimeta, Emeka Okafor, said they were ready to give maximum support and cooperation to restore good environment, even as he made emphasis on the need for the provision of waste bins in some strategic locations.
