The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in Adamawa State has organized a Unity Walk to mark it’s 50th anniversary with a view to promoting national unity and development across the country.
The State Coordinator National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Mr Jingi Denis stated this while addressing corps members during a Unity Walk in Yola.
In celebration of the NYSC  50th anniversary, the State Coordinator National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Mr Jingi Denis explained that the essence of organizing the Unity Walk was to celebrate the establishment of the NYSC across the country.
Mr Jingi Denis said the NYSC was created by decree No.24, on 22nd May, 1973 and by 22nd of May, 2023 the NYSC will be 50 years in establishment.
According to him, the National Youth Service Corps is celebrating achievement, National Unity, development and integration in the country.
He emphasized that the NYSC has achieved alot in terms of  National Unity and development, adding that the corp brings together about hundred thousand Corps Members yearly from different parts of the country, and from diverse backgrounds through same orientation to unite the country.
The State Coordinator National Youth Service Corps, Adamawa State pointed out that no organization has brought youths together like NYSC that performs same duties for the development of the society.
He therefore congratulated the Corps Members on the 50th anniversary celebration, urging them to be  responsible, diligent and respect the culture and traditions of societies and also contribute in terms of community development.
Some of the Corps Members spoke to Radio Nigeria during the Unity Walk celebration.
The Unity Walk marking the 50th anniversary of the NYSC started from NYSC Secretariat to  Government house,Yola.
