Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been honoured with an award of excellence for good leadership and governance.
The award was given to the governor and other important personalities by the General News media platform popularly known as (TGNEWS) in an occasion held in Yola.
While receiving the award, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, reiterated his administration’s commitment to do more for the betterment of the state and its citizens.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has received several awards in the past by notable organizations for his unique style of leadership.
The governor who was represented by his Deputy professor Kaletapwa Farauta, appreciated TG News platform for the honour, noting that the award is an energizer to do more.
He tasked his fellow recipients to reciprocate the award by availing themselves to work together with the government to make the state great again
Delivering a paper on the topic “The media,social media and national security: Balancing the free flow of information with responsible journalism in Nigeria, the Vice chancellor federal university Kashere professor Umar Pate explained that the advent of internet has affected media operation, stressing that no media can reach out to audiences without the right technology.
TGNews platform was established in 2015, by a practicing journalist Tom Garba in Adamawa state.
According to Tom Garba the news platform was created to address the issue of fake and incorrect narratives surrounding the Nigeria’s Northeast region especially on issues of insecurity occasioned by insurgency.
