Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Said his administration has placed health care delivery as one of it priority areas.
The governor stated this when he received the national president of the Fellowship of Christian Nurses, Nigeria and other national officials who were at the government house on a courtesy visit.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was represented by the Chief of staff government house, Doctor Edgar Amos Sunday said beyond building new cottage hospitals and rehabilitating existing ones, the government has also equipped them and consider the welfare remuneration of nurses and other healthcare workers so as to provide a more favourable working condition devoid of excuses.
Governor Fintiri called on members of the Christian fellowship of Nigeria nurses to be deligent in their responsibilities.
The governor urged them to relate well with other professionals in the healthcare sector as their collective professional conduct will improve health care delivery system.
He equally appealed to them to shy away from the “JAPA” syndrome which is mainly for the money and remain in their home country to serve.
The governor used the opportunity to appealed to other health workers to reverse the trend and remain committed to their work.
The governor commended them for organizing themselves to see that their work is effective and efficient knowing how critical their role is in the society.
Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation and president of the Fellowship of Christian Nurses , Nigeria Mr. Abalis Dagat said the fellowship annually hold national conference in order to foster it aims and encourage a build of assistance character, and Adamawa State will be hosting the conference this year, hence their visit to the governor to inform him and seek his permission to serve as the guest of honor during the opening ceremony which will take place at the LCCN Cathedral , Nasarawo.
He also informed the governor that the fellowship conference plans to present the governor with the award of good governance, Abalis commended the governor for the developmental projects in the state, especially in the healthcare sector, as he reflected back on his visit eleven years ago.
