2025 Armed forces remembrance day: Gov Fintiri honours fallen heroes

Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has led dignitaries in the state to laying of wreaths in honour of the Nation’s fallen heroes in celebrating the twenty twenty five Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The event, which held at Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola was attended by personalities, serving and retired soldiers, as well as widows of the personnel who laid their lives in the line of duty.

Others who laid the wreaths during the ceremony included Speaker State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdurrahman, Lamido Adamawa Doctor Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha and service commanders among others.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the event, Governor Fintiri urged Nigerians to continue to pray the country and support widows of the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The governor commended the officers and men of the Armed Forces for their sacrifices in protecting the country’s territorial integrity.

Governor Fintiri called for collective efforts in addressing the numerous security challenges in the country as he emphasized that peace and unity are essential for development.

Highpoints of the event were offering of special prayers, as well as observing a minute silence and firing a three gun salute in honour of the fallen heroes and releasing of pigeons by the governor to signify peace.
