Adamawa State Government has inaugurated a twenty man steering committee on state development plan for the betterment of the State and the Country at large.
The inauguration took place at Conference hall, Government House, Yola.
While inaugurating the Steering Committee on State Development Plan, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintri represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta charged the Committee to discharge their duties effectively.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintri said the committee comprises people of pedigree and integrity, urging them to use their wealth of experience and explore ways to develop the State.
He said the essence of inaugurating the Steering Committee was to influence the needed change and development through initiating policies and direction that will positively affect the people of the state.
Responding, the Chairman Steering Committee on State Development Plan who is also the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Auwal Tukur thanked Governor Fintiri for the confidence reposed in them.
He promised to work accordingly for the betterment of the people of Adamawa State.
Also Speaking, the Executive Chairman State Planning Commission, Dr. Mary Panninga explained that the committee will work according to the terms of reference in the existing State Development Plan.
According to her, Adamawa State has robust monitoring and evaluation structure that will help them to succeed .
The 20 member steering committee on Adamawa state development plan comprises of people from across all spheres of life.
The terms of reference for the steering committee includes; review the existing medium development plan 2021/2025 for update of plan in perspective, to oversee the plan preparation process and Act as the client for the Technical team providing guidance on content among others.
