Bauchi Gubernatorial Candidates Sign Peace Accord

The Gubernatorial Candidates from different polical parties in Bauchi State have signed Peace Accord ahead of the Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly elections.

At the event which held at the State Police Headquarters, all the candidates pledged commitment for the Peaceful conduct of the election.

Our Correspondents Isiyaka Wunti reports that the Peace Accord was presided over by the State Commissioner of Police Aminu Alhassan.

Some of the major candidates include the incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed of PDP, Retired Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar of APC who was represented by his running mate Shehu Aliyu Musa, Senator Halliru Dauda Jika of NNPP as well as Barrister Faruq Gwadabe of PRP.

Addressing journalists after the occasion, the Commissioner of Police Aminu Alhassan expressed optimism that the candidates would abide by the agreement and also guide their supporters.

Also speaking, Governor Bala Mohammed who described the move as apt noting that PDP supporters have been warned against any action aimed at disrupting the election process.

On their part, the Representative of the APC candidate Shehu Aliyu Musa and Senator Halliru Dauda Jika who promised to play by the rule of the game called on INEC and the security personnel to maintain neutrality to guarantee peace.

However, the candidates charged INEC to address the challenges experienced during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

The event featured official signing of the Peace Accord and exchange of pleasantries by the candidates.
