Gombe Assembly Holds Public Hearing on Almajiri and Out of School children

The Speaker Gombe State House of Assembly Abubakar Mohammed luggerewo has assured of the assembly readiness to implement all meaningful contributions that will enrich the passage of Almajiri and out of school children Education Agency bill 2024.

He made the assurance at House of Assembly conference Hall while declaring open a public hearing on a bill to establish Gombe State Almajiri and out of school children Education Agency bill 2024 submitted by the State Governor Alhaji Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The Speaker said that when the bill is passed into law, it will guide in the proper running of Almajiri sangaya and out of school children who were not privileged to go to school.

Abubakar luggerewo commended the state Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya for such a timely bill and thanked all stakeholders who contributed positive toward the success of the bill.

Earlier speaking the chairman house committee on Education Shuaibu Adamu Haruna said his committee upon receive of the bill for scrutiny it’s deems it fit to conduct public hearing so as to enrich it with suggestions and contributions from stakeholders.

He also assured that no any meaningful contribution that will be left out calling on the stakeholders to appreciate the effort of the State Governor for seeking for the establishment of the bill.

Highlighting the bill, the State Attorney General and commissioner for Justice Barr. Umar Zubairu said the bill, which has twenty-seven articles when passed into law by the State Assembly, will formalize Almajiri sangaya Quran Education and minimize out of school children.

He said that from the formation of the agency board, the Alaramas welfare would be taken care of.

Participants at the public hearing have presented there observations both in written and verbal calling on committee members to do the needful to come up with law that will not deprived the right of Almajiri in his quest of searching for Qur’an knowledge.
