Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed commitment towards reducing maternal and child mortality in the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri stated this while inspecting a world class maternal and childcare center situated at the specialist hospital in Yola, the state capital.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri expressed satisfaction with the quality and level of work and equipment installed at the world class maternal and childcare center which was initiated by former Governor Murtala Nyako’s administration.
Shortly after being conducted round the center by the medical director of the specialist hospital, Doctor Dauda Wadinga, Governor Fintiru said he is impressed as the present administration actualized the dream of having one of the worlds’ class maternal and childcare centers in the country.
Governor Fintiri assured that experienced staff will be recruited to operate and maintain the equipment.
Commenting on the centre, the commissioner for health, Felix Tangwami noted that the fintiri led administration has given more priority to the development of the health sector in the state.
Felix Tangwami called on people of the state to patronize the centre when the need arises and save the cost of travelling long distance to seek medical health.
He therefore called on them to support and pray for the fintiri led administration for more dividends of democracy.
The Medical Director of the Specialist Hospital Yola, Doctor Dauda Wadinga on his part said aside the world class center,a standard laboratory,MRI,Citi scan and other sophisticated equipment are within the hospital, saying no facility is left out.
