Taraba state Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas wants the Nigerian Army to sustain the tempo in the fight against criminality for continued peace and growth of the state.
Governor Agbu Kefas made the call at the closing of the 2024 West African Social Activities, WASA of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, held at Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo Taraba State.

Represented by Secretary to the Government of the state, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, Govenor Kefas further commended the efforts of the army and other security outfits for securing the lives and property of residents and making Taraba state uncomfortable for the criminal elements.

He assured the Nigerian Army and other security agencies of Taraba state government’s continued support in all their engagements.
Earlier, the Brigade Commander 6 bridage, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa described the West African social activities as a significant event, which is part of the customs and tradition of the Nigerian Army aimed at strengthening social relationships among officers and their families through social activities, cultural displays and other regimental activities.
He expressed delight for the successful conclusion of the 2024 training cycle appreciating God for his benevolence towards them and the unwavering support of the Chief of Defence Staff and the Taraba state government.Marking the beginning of a new year, Brigadier General Uwa reassured the people of Taraba State and the Nigerian Army of the Brigade’s unrelenting commitment and loyalty to fulfilling its mandate of defending the nation’s territorial integrity and aiding civil authority.

The event featured a variety of cultural displays, the symbolic beating of retreat, presentation of awards, and the lighting of bonfire.
