NLC Adamawa State chapter joins counter parts across the country in a peaceful protest

Adamawa State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress has joined its counterparts across the country in protesting the suffering and high cost of living bedeviling the people occasioned by the federal government’s policies.

 

Addressing the peaceful protesters at the gate of the government house yola, the state chairman of the Nigeria labor Congress, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe commended the state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for rolling out palliative measures to ameliorate the suffering of the masses in the state.

 

 

 

Comrade Emmanuel Fashe said the labour union, being the voice of the voiceless workers and masses deemed it necessary to protest the suffering and hunger bedeviling the people.

 

 

 

According to the state labour leader, the message of dissatisfaction is for onward transmission to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu decrying that the president’s policies upon assumption of office has brought untold hardship on the people and that is totally unacceptable.

 

 

 

He said the policies are anti masses, noting that the take home pay of workers have become grossly inadequate owing to the hike in prices of commodities.

 

 

 

While appreciating the Governor for being worker friendly ,Comrade Emmanuel Fashe solicited the continuation of the payment of ten thousand naira palliative until the federal government concluded on the new national minimum wage.

 

 

 

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Doctor Edgar Amos Sunday Edgar, commended the NLC for being sensitive to the needs of the masses noting that hunger is no respecter of anybody and that no hungry person can contribute to the development of the state or the nation.

 

 

 

The governor said the current hardship requires federal government’s attention as the peace, progress and development of the country remains sacrosanct.

 

 

 

While thanking them for conducting themselves peacefully, the governor assured that he will relay their message to the appropriate authorities.

 

 

 

The governor added that there is a cordial relationship between government and the labour in the state as all government policies are based on agreements reached with the labour union.
