Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army and sector three Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested two tourists in Geshi village along Rafin kada Road, Damisa ward in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba state.
In a statement signed by Acting Assistant Director, six Brigade Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Oni OLUBODUNDE, pointed out that based on the intelligent report they received regarding a terrorist attack in Geshi village, troops stationed at Akate in Donga Local Government quickly moved to the village fiercely engaging the criminals in a gun battle.
According to the statement, the operation, which happened on the 11th July 2024 was successful, leading to the apprehension of two notorious miscreants with their motorbikes.
The statement revealed that the criminals are currently in custody for questioning and further investigations.
Brigade commander, Six Brigade Jalingo, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, who applauded the troops for their relentless efforts in fighting crimes also urged resident to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity around them.
In another development, troops during their patrol within Jalingo metropolis found a 9 year old girl.
The girl named Dorthy kwatsumen was wandering about at Gongomaliki area in yorro local government area.
After conducting a preliminary investigation, troops were able to trace her school, and she has since been reunited with her parents.
