Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has cautioned the newly elected executive council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state against anti-party activities and neglect of duty.
Governor Fintiri issued the warning while receiving the newly elected state and local government executive council during a thank-you visit at the Government House in Yola.
The Governor, who congratulated the new executives for emerging through consensus, described their emergence as a demonstration of unity within the party. He also commended the efforts of the state chairman for fostering unity and strengthening internal harmony among members.
Urging the party leadership to build on the progress already recorded and consolidate the achievements of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration, Governor Fintiri called on them to uphold transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities. He stressed the need to carry all members along and ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt across the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the State Chairman of the APC, Hamzai Bello Madagali, who led the delegation, said the visit was to appreciate the Governor for his support during the party congress and subsequent activities. Madagali described the Governor’s backing as instrumental to the success recorded during the party elections, adding that it has strengthened the structure of the APC in the state. He reiterated the commitment of the new executive council to work for development, justice, and fairness for all citizens.
Also speaking, the State Secretary of the party, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, commended the Governor’s resilience and dedication to the growth of the APC, noting that his leadership has been pivotal to the party’s stability.
