Chief of staff to Adamawa state governor, Doctor Edgar Amos Sunday, has been honored with the award of the kwameh Nkrumah Grow Africa Price for excellence.
The award was presented by the Grow Africa Youth Initiative, an African based youth organization with core mandate of pan-Africanism, leadership and entrepreneurship amongst others for the purpose of building a more desirous Africa for all.
In his speech which was read by the director of programme and publicity Comrade Ozim Temple during the brief ceremony which took place at the chief of staff’s office at the government house, the president of the organization, Notchisou Toure described the chief of staff as a detribalized Nigerian, lover of the youths and a charismatic personality whose credibility, educational development and community services amongst others made him an iconic patriot in the African society hence the need for the honor.
Toure listed some of the references used to confer the honor on the chief of staff to include, hard work and dedication to societal development and character building, high administrative knowledge and selfless leadership, and his policies which are driven by administrative prudence and selfless leadership ideology which are always evident in any office entrusted in him.
While highlighting that the grow Africa Youth initiative saddled with building youth in leadership and entrepreneurship with the purpose of providing Africa with intellectually equipped youth to take the mantle of leadership, the president said the initiative equally aimed at positioning the youth towards the 2063 agenda which is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global power house of the future, adding that the grow Africa youth initiative will be organizing drug abuse campaign and sensitization across the country for the benefit of the youth.
Responding, the chief of staff Government house Yola, Doctor Edgar Amos Sunday who expressed delight for being honored with the award of excellence, confessed that it came to him as a surprise and equally assured the organization of his cooperation and support at all times.
Edgar Amos dedicated the award to the executive governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintir for assigning responsibilities to him that helped define him more for this honor.
A plague, certificate and medal of honor were presented to the chief of staff during the event.
