Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved and released the counterpart fund for the livestock productivity and resilience support project, L-PRES.
This was contained in a statement signed by the state project coordinator, Mr. Secondea Alfa and made available to newsmen in yola, the Adamawa state capital.
According to the statement, with this development, there is going to be collaboration with stake holders such as Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association, livestock cooperatives, public and private livestock service providers and farms, including all sectors in the livestock cycle in order to develop baseline data for the project.
The statement said, the baseline data to be developed will help the project in providing water points for livestock, resilting of existing dams and construction of new ones, production of livestock feed and overhauling of existing game reserves.
Others are rehabilitation and construction of livestock health centers and abbatoirs, as well as collaboration with banks to provide credit facility at zero interest rate to livestock cooperative and farms.
The statement added that L-PRES intended to carry out all these and more within its six years project life cycle which are all in line with the Fintiri led administration’s commitments towards the development of livestock in the state.
