Adamawa state government has reaffirmed its commitment to uplift the socio-economic status of its citizen and foster inclusive growth across all sectors of the economy.
Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri state this during the Flag off ceremony of the Fintiri Business wallet, a cash grant disbursement of 50,000 naira each to 10, 000 micro businesses across the state in an event that took place at Ribadu square Yola, the state capital.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said his administration has recognized that micro-businesses form the backbone of local communities, drive innovation, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the overall prosperity of the people and the state.
The governor said the decision to allocate these cash grants stems from his administration’s unwavering dedication to alleviating poverty and empowering entrepreneurs to thrive in a competitive marketplace.
Governor Fintiri said government understood the challenges faced by micro-business owners, from limited access to capital, lack of resources and infrastructure, adding that these cash grants are not merely handouts but strategic investments in the future of Adamawa State.
While advising the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely, invest in their businesses, and seize the opportunities that lie ahead, the governor urged them to see this moment to serve as a catalyst for innovation, creativity, and enterprise development irrespective of the nature of their businesses.
The governor commended the efforts of the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency for their diligent work in implementing this program and called on all stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to collaborate closely in supporting our micro-business owners on their journey to success.
In his remarks, the commissioner, ministry of entrepreneurship, James Iliya thanked the governor for his efforts to revitalize micro business in the state and congratulated the beneficiaries as well.
In her opening remarks, the Head of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency, PAWECA, Hajiya Aisha Bello Bawa commended the governor for coming Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Eunice kiliyobas thanked governor Fintiri for the support rendered to micro businesses in the state, attesting to the fact that the Fintiri led administration is indeed a blessing for the people of the state.
In his goodwill messages, the speaker, Adamawa state house of assembly, Bathiya Wesley commended the governor for his efforts on improving all sectors in the state and expressed readiness to always support the Fintiri led administration.
