Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the state intervention project for the award to construct four hostel blocks at the Nigeria Law school, Yola campus at the cost of eight hundred and fifty-five million, two hundred and forty-seven thousand, nine hundred and seventy-six naira, eighty one kobo.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya stated this while briefing government house correspondents Shortly after the 13th state executive council meeting chaired by the Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the council chamber government house Yola.
The Commissioner of Information and Strategy James Iliya explained that the contract was awarded to three different contractors, namely Sisilah investment general contract limited, Nur structural aluminum and steel engineering and AB & LA project limited and the project has a completion period of twelve weeks.
The Commissioner explained that being the law school representing the northeast region, the number of students is gradually increasing hence the need for the intervention with the four hostel blocks by the State government in order to ease accommodation challenges for the students.
Explaining further, the state commissioner for housing and urban development, Abdullahi Prambe said the project on the institution which belong to the federal government is an intervention by the state government so as to assist in accommodating more number of students in the school.
Also appreciating the state government for the approval of the contract, the Attorney general and Commissioner for justice who is also a member of the legal education council, Barrister Afraimu Jingi appreciated the intervention by the Fintiri led administration in addressing both water and accommodation challenges that the law school has been facing.
Jingi therefore appealed to other states in the region to equally assist the federal government and intervene where necessary.
