Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reviewed the curfew declared across the State in the wake of the looting of items at Government Warehouses last Sunday.

This was contained in a statement signed by the press secretary to the governor, Humwashi Wonousiko and made available to news men in Yola , the state capital.

According to the statement, the curfew has now been relaxed in 17 Local Government Areas with the exception of Yola North, Yola South, Girei and Numan where the curfew will continue to run from 6:00pm to 6:00am daily, and will subsist till further notice.

The governor said, security operatives will therefore remain in the affected councils to enforce the new directive with a view to further maintaining law and order.

According to the Governor, the new directive follows the return of peace and the advices from the state security council.

Governor Fintiri noted that, the curfew was never declared to inflict hardship on the people in the first instance, but to protect them and return normalcy to the affected areas.

While commending citizens and residents for their show of understanding and cooperation so far, the Governor enjoined the citizenry to always channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities and resist the temptation of taking law into their own hands.
