The Adamawa State Government has distributed financial assistance alongside food and non-food relief materials to victims of the recent communal clash in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state.
Presenting the items to the victims, the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, urged residents, particularly youths, to embrace dialogue, mutual respect and other peaceful means of resolving disputes, stressing that lasting peace is essential for security and development.
She called on the people to support the government’s peace-building efforts and promote unity across communities.
The Commissioner for Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Titus Solomon, commended the intervention and appealed to residents to sustain the prevailing peace.
The District Head of Lamurde, Napwama Istifanus, and one of the beneficiaries, Remedy Yakubu, expressed appreciation to the State Government for the timely support.
Relief materials distributed included maize, rice, wrappers, children’s clothing, mats and mattresses, while cheques were presented to families of those affected by the
