Parents have been urged to prioritize the education of their children.
The Group General Manager, Dangote Sugar Refineries, Numan, Alhaji Bello Dan-Musa made the call during the 2023 children’s day celebration held at the Dangote sugar Refinery staff primary school.
The Group General Manager operations of Dangote Sugar Refineries, Numan, Alhaji Bello Dan-Musa said for every child to have a better education, the commitment of the parents is essential in achieving that.
Dan-musa said, Dangote group will always support education development in the state and the Country at large.
He added that the company will make sure that the welfare of its teaching staff is taken care of efficiently.
The Chairman, parent’s teachers’ association of the school malam Lawan Adamu said setting aside a day like this to celebrate the children is not only for the children but to the parents as well who were always there to support them.
According to him, inculcating vocational skills on the children at a tender age will go a long way in making them productive and self-reliant when they grow.
In her speech, the head teacher, Dangote sugar refinery staff school, Mrs. Grace Ella said the day is an opportunity for the children to interact and be happy.
Mrs. Grace said in line with the Nigeria national theme for this year’s celebration, ” more money for primary education” and also in line with the dangote group sustainability of the planet earth plan, have decided to actualize the “waste to wealth” initiative by embarking on recycling some waste for the production of house hold materials.
Highlights of this year’s celebration were quiz, debate, cultural dance among others.
