Adamawa State Government has flagged-off the distribution of assorted grains and food commodities from the Federal Government.
The Flag-off ceremony was held at central stores, Yola, Adamawa State.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintri represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta assured them that the people of the State will ensure judicious Distribution of the items.
Umaru Fintri said there is a lot of hardship and the people of the state are undergoing a lot of stress and the government is mindful of that, adding that they want to ensure that the pressure the people are going through is reduced.
According to the Governor, the state government will ensure that the people of the state feel the impact of the items that were brought by the Federal Government.
He therefore appreciated the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all other organisations for working tirelessly to provide succor to the people of the state.
Also speaking, the Director General, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA Zubaida Umar represented by the Zonal Director, Northeast NEMA, Yakubu Suleiman explained that the distribution was in fulfillment of President Tinubu’s promise to reduce the impact of the current economic down-turn being experienced in the country in line with the renewed Hope Agenda.
She pointed out that the President approved the release of 42,000 Metric Tons of assorted food commodities from the National strategic Reserve under the custody of the federal ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
In a remark, the Permanent Secretary who is also the Executive Secretary Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Heidi Edgar Amos Sunday said the allocations will certainly bring relief to the target beneficiaries and compliment the laudable effort of Governor Umaru Fintri in ameliorating the hardship being experienced as a result of the current inflation and consequent high cost of goods and services in the state and the Country at large.
