Fombina FM General Manager Receives Excellence Award in Yola.

The General Manager of Radio Nigeria Fombina FM, Yola, Mallam Mohammed Babayo Asha, has been honoured with the “Best Broadcaster of the Year 2026” award and an Award of Excellence in Service to Humanity by Tracks Newspaper Kaduna.

Presenting the award, the Editor of Tracks Newspaper Kaduna, Comrade Ahmad Ahmadu, described Mallam Mohammed Babayo Asha as a committed broadcaster whose contributions to public enlightenment, peace building and national development have positively impacted society.

Comrade Ahmad Ahmadu said the award followed careful assessment of the General Manager’s dedication to responsible journalism and humanitarian service.

He noted that the media remains a strong pillar of democracy and national development, stressing that journalism must continue to promote truth, fairness, peace and unity.

The Tracks Newspaper Editor also emphasized the importance of radio broadcasting in educating citizens, promoting cultural values and providing information during emergencies and national challenges.

According to him, Radio Nigeria Fombina FM has distinguished itself through balanced reporting, educational programmes and responsible broadcasting across Adamawa State and the North-East region.

He urged media practitioners and social media users to use their platforms to promote peace, tolerance and national unity.

Receiving the award on behalf of the General Manager, the Chairman, Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU, Fombina FM chapter, Abdulrazak Inuwa, thanked Tracks Newspaper Kaduna for the recognition.

He described the award as a reflection of the station’s commitment to educating, informing and sensitizing the public through quality broadcasting.

Inuwa dedicated the award to journalists, presenters and support staff of Radio Nigeria Fombina FM Yola for their dedication and professionalism.

He assured listeners that the station would continue to uphold responsible journalism and quality service delivery.
