The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi says its decision to engage private developers to provide hostel accommodation through “Build to Operate Transfer Partnership” is to ensure improvement in students’ welfare.
The Rector of the polytechnic, Alhaji Sani Usman who stated this at the institution’s 2026 Matriculation ceremony, said expansion and modernisation of hostel facilities is ongoing in the campus
This according to Alhaji Sani Usman, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Dalhatu Sa’idu Abubakar was aimed at providing safe, comfortable and conducive accommodation for students.
The Rector said as part of efforts to strengthen security in the campus towards ensuring a safe and seren learning environment, the institution’s perimeter fencing was nearing completion.
He noted the accreditation of about seventy eight academic programmes at National and Higher National Diplomas by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE.
These developments, according to him, underscored the commitment of the polytechnic on high academic standard for national and international competitiveness.
Over five thousand nine hundred students were matriculated for the 2026 academic session, with the Matriculation Oath administered by a legal practitioner, Mr Umar Wunti.
