The National Agency for Great Green Wall has empowered over one hundred women and Youth in Bauchi State on different skills.
The Field Officer of the agency in Bauchi Hajiya Hadiza Muhammad who stated this during the empowerment exercise said the gesture was to address the hardship being faced by communities with environmental related problems.
Hajiya Hadiza disclosed that the participants mostly in rural areas were given livestock under its Small Ruminants Farming programme.
According to her, other participants trained on tailoring were also given starter packs to improve their living conditions.
Some of the participants interviewed Auwalu Shehu Tatije from Katagum Local Government and Fatima Muhammad from Dass Local Government thanked the agency for the kind gesture and promised to use the packs to improve their lots.
Items distributed include Sewing machines and livestock among others.
