The committee on commerce, industry, tourism and that of science, technology and innovation of the Gombe state house of assembly has organised a one day public hearing on a bill for a law to establish the Gombe state investment promotion Agency 2024.
Held at the conference hall of the house, the bill is part of the executive bill sent to the house by the Gombe state governor Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahya seeking for approval.
Declaring the session upon, the speaker of the house Abubakar Muhammad Luggerewo, said the house in receiving the bill gave it first reading and deliveredd before forwarding it to the house committee on commerce with a time frame of one Month to report back.
The speaker who commended the committee for it’s prompt actions to organize the public hearing with the aim of enriching the document also assured the stakeholders and invited guests that their views and observations will be duly considered before passing into law.
In a speech the chairman of the committee Yakubu Daniel said the purpose of the public on a bill to for a law to establish the Gombe state investment promotion Agency 2024 is to initiate,
promote, facilitate and coordinate investment in the state through private partnership and computerization of the state own assets and assured to carefully study all the contributions in order to form part of the bill.
Also speaking the state commissioner ministry of commerce and industry Nasiru Muhammad Aliyu described the bill as timely adding that the state government has spends huge amounts of resources in establishing Muhammad Buhari industrial park which will attract investors and promote on the live of cetezens in addition with Balanga Dam power plant among others.
The commissioner then commended the Gombe state house of assembly for complementing the effort of the state governor towards actualisation of the bill in the state.
In a remark, the state Antony general also commissioner of justice Barrister Zubairu Muhammad Umar said the ministry has research extensively before coming up with the documents adding that investment is the live wire of a given society as it will curtail joblessness and ease of doing business.
He said the legitimate function of the of the board is to promote and encourage investment and assist investors to have a secured investment in Gombe state.
