Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has restated his administration’s commitment to sustaining the urban renewal projects for the development of the state.
The Governor made this known during the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Construction of Overhead Bridge at Mubi Roundabout and the Reconstruction of Adjoining Streets in the metropolitan city of Jimeta.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said Urban renewal occupied a central place on his administration’s eight Point Agenda of ensuring no one is left behind and nothing is left untouched in Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri said during his first term in office, meaningful infrastructural projects were executed,reassuring that in this present second tenure , remarkable feat shall also be prosecuted with vigour.
The governor added that his administration has improved the infrastructural status of both urban and rural centers tremendously and will not back pedal on this course until the narrative is completely altered for the better.
He stressed that With the huge investment in infrastructure, Adamawa State is fast emerging to be the most suitable State for investment,adding that the good road network within Yola and the overhead bridge coupled with the grade interchange with underpass have so far ranked the mega capital city as the most convenient capital for vehicular movement in the Northeast sub-region.
Speaking on the project, the commissioner of works and energy development, Adamu Atiku said the third fly over bridge in the state tagged fresh air fly-over level two point zero is a symbol of development and testament of the governor’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the people of Adamawa state.
The commissioner said there are a lot of benefits attached to the project aside the ease traffic and congestion in that corridor.
Adamu Atiku emphaisized that the development embodied the Adamawa state admired by the fintiri led administration where collective efforts thrive and shared visions realized, adding that his ministry will be working with * Acresal* and the ministry of environment to ensure tree planting and enhance ecological balance to meet the international standard.
He therefore called on the residents of yola north and the surrounding communities to take full ownership of the project and support the state government in delivering more devidends of democracy for the development of the state.
In their separate remarks, the member representing yola- north in the state Assembly, Sulaiman Umar Alkali, chairman , yola north local government area and the district head of jimeta both thanked the governor for the project and pledged to support the administration in the development of the state.
The contract for the project which was awarded as lot one ,was awarded to messrs Traiacta Nigeria Limited at a contract sum ₦9,264,498,755.33 inclusive of all statutory deductions and will be completed within the period of 18 Months.
