Gov. Fintiri pledges more support to security agencies in Adamawa

Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reassured of his administration’s commitment to providing security for the protection of lives and property in the state.

 

 

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri gave the indication during the 2023 Brigade commander’s inter-agencies 25- kilometers marathon competition held at Gibson Jalo cantonment Yola.

 

 

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri noted that government will continue to emphasize on commitment from all stakeholders for peaceful coexistence among the divers ethnic groups in the state.

 

 

“We will continue to work with relevant stakeholders and the security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of crime in the state are dealt with headlong. I assure the people of the State that my administration will continue to provide the needed support towards ensuring Adamawa State continue to witness seamless peace and security for people to enjoy the dividend of democracy’’.

 

 

Governor Fintiri who was elated for the initiative expressed gratitude to the Brigade Commander 23 Armored Brigade, Brigadier General Muhammed Jibril Gambo, officers and men as well as Heads of other security agencies for their Combatant readiness, dedication and commitment to duties as displayed during the competition.

 

 

 

He seized the opportunity to thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreeq Lagbaja for providing the needed support to 23 Brigade to organized the competition, saying continued practice would enhanced the spirit of sportsmanship, ginger the gallants, foster cooperation and team work needed to address the security challenges confronting Adamawa State and the nation in general.

 

 

“There is no doubt that you all have played tremendous roles in stabilizing and achieving sustainable peace in Adamawa State. I therefore urge you to continue to consolidate on the gains so far made in curbing the activities of criminals who are hell bent on causing pain and hardship to the law abiding citizens of Adamawa State. On our part, we will continue to call for sincere commitment of all stakeholders to ensure peaceful coexistence in the State”.

 

 

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who supported the competition with the sum of five million naira, and a gift of one hundred thousand naira each to the marathon participants equally urged them not to relent in their collective efforts to get rid of all forms of restiveness and criminalities in the state.

 

 

In his opening speech, the Brigade Commander 23 Armoured Brigade Yola, Brigadier General Muhammed Jibril Gambo appreciated the Governor for honouring the invitation, saying the inter-agencies marathon race was organized in order to strengthened the existing collaboration between the security agencies in the state

 

 

Brigadier General Gambo said the engagement of the Nigeria Army against terrorism and cattle rustling, kidnapping and armed banditry requires continuous training and synergy between the military and other para-military agencies within Adamawa state.

 

 

During the competition , there was a volley ball match between the Nigeria army and the Nigeria Airforce as well as twenty five kilometers marathon which kick started from Gibson Jalo cantonment through AA Lawan junction, NDLEA Junction ,shinko round about , market round about, police round about, back to AA Lawan round about and terminated at the Gibson Jalo cantonment.
