Adamawa State Governor , Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri says that his administration will continue to extend hand of fellowship to the Modibbo Adama University MAU, Yola so that it can thrive in achieving excellence.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri made this known when he granted audience to MAU Governing Council and it’s management team who were in his office at the Government House in Yola.
According to Governor Fintiri, MAU is dear to the state having provided opportunities for majority of the indigenous staff and students serving in the state.
He revealed that the State Government on its own has intervene in different areas not only in the university alone but, all federal institutions in the state.
While expressing confidence in the university Governing Council and management team, he reaffirmed commitment to have synergy with the university management saying that is the only way Government know and intervene in addressing their prospects and challenges.
He assured the university Governing Council, that his administration will look into their request for the construction of 3.5 kilometers road network, connecting departments within the university among other challenges.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the University Governing Council and former Governor of Zamfara State Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, appreciated Governor Fintiri for his intervention in the state over the years.
He commended the role Governor Fintiri played in changing the institution from University of Technology to a conventional institution, a development according to him that encourage more enrollment.
