Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, says his administration will continue to support the Northern Governors’ Wives’ Forum in promoting development at the grassroots.
Governor Fintiri stated this when he received members of the forum, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Yola.
He commended the governors’ wives for their interventions in women empowerment and support for vulnerable communities, urging them to focus their deliberations on issues affecting women and children in Northern Nigeria.
Earlier, the Chairperson of the forum and Wife of the Gombe State Governor, Hajiya Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, said the delegation was in Yola for the Second Tri-Annual Meeting and sought the state government’s partnership in women and youth empowerment, agriculture and healthcare.
The wife of the Gombe State Governor commended Dr Lami Fintiri for her initiatives, particularly the renovation of the labour and neonatal complex at the Specialist Hospital, Yola, and extended the forum’s condolences to Governor Fintiri over the death of former Governor of the defunct Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
