Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for young Nigerians to thrive.
The Governor stated this during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch C, Stream One orientation course for corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Fintiri described the National Youth Service Corps as one of Nigeria’s enduring instruments for national unity, integration and development.
He explained that the NYSC programme brings together young Nigerians from diverse ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds, enabling them to appreciate the country’s diversity, build lasting friendships and strengthen national consciousness.

The Governor urged the corps members to embrace the values of patriotism, discipline, tolerance, hard work, selflessness and service to humanity.
He encouraged them to approach their primary assignments and Community Development Service projects not merely as requirements for completing their service year, but as opportunities to identify challenges, provide solutions and positively transform their host communities.

On the welfare of corps members, Governor Fintiri said his administration had consistently supported the NYSC orientation course through feeding allowances and would sustain the initiative.
He also assured corps members serving in the state that the thirty thousand naira monthly allowance provided by his administration would continue as part of efforts to cushion the effects of prevailing economic challenges.

Speaking earlier, the Adamawa State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Asoroh Caroline, appreciated Governor Fintiri for augmenting corps members’ feeding during the orientation course and sustaining the payment of the thirty thousand naira monthly allowance.
She also commended the state government’s commitment to developing a more befitting permanent NYSC orientation camp at Malkohi.
The State NYSC Governing Board member, Wali Yakubu, urged the corps members to conduct themselves responsibly and acquire skills that would contribute to national development.
The oath of allegiance was administered by the Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, who urged the corps members to be obedient and respect constituted authorities in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
About one thousand four hundred and twenty eight corps members have so far registered at the camp.
