Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has commended his Gombe counterpart, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for what he described as transformative infrastructure development across the state.

Governor Zulum spoke while commissioning a forty-one-kilometre Shango-Sarkin Yaki-Abuja/Bula-Bomala-Dinawa-Alagarno-Kalajanga – Tappi Road in Kwami Local Government Area.

Other projects commissioned include the thirty-kilometre Kwanan Gerkwami-Tsangayari-Gerkwami-Daniya- Daban-Fulani Road, fifteen-kilometre Kurba-Titi-Tsangayari Road with a spur to Kundulum, and the three-span Titi-Kurba Bridge.

The projects bring the total length of newly commissioned roads to more than eighty-six kilometres.

Governor Zulum said the roads would improve connectivity between rural communities and urban centres, boost agricultural production and enhance access to markets and other economic opportunities.

He described the level of development under Governor Inuwa Yahaya as unprecedented in the history of Gombe State, urging the people to support and appreciate the administration’s efforts.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremonies, Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the projects were strategically designed to connect communities, improve mobility and unlock the economic potential of areas along the various corridors.

He said the projects were being implemented under the Network-1100 programme, which targets the construction of about one thousand one hundred kilometres of roads across the state’s eleven Local Government Areas.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya said more than one thousand kilometres of roads had so far been constructed as his administration enters the final phase of its tenure.

He added that the expanded road network would facilitate the movement of people and agricultural produce, improve access to markets and services, and strengthen economic activities across the state.
