The Gender Studies Association of Nigeria, GSAN, has organised an international conference in Gombe State, with a call for policies to address the almost 20 million over out-of-school children in Nigeria.
An official of the association Professor Christiana Fwenji, who made the call, stressed the need for inclusive policies and collective action to address the challenge.

She also called for equity for both the girl child and the boy child in the society especially in the area of school enrollment.
The Chairperson of GSAN in Gombe and Director of the General Studies Centre, Gombe State University, Dr. Aishatu Abubakar Kumo, charged stakeholders at all levels to sustain efforts towards promoting gender equity in all sectors of society.
The conference attracted participants from academia, students, technocrats, and experts in gender studies, among others.
