The Gombe State House of Assembly has passed into law a supplementary budget of 364.71 billion naira, for the year 2024, which represents an increase of 156.65 billion naira from the initially approved budget of 208.06 billion naira.

This followed the adoption of the observation and recommendation of the house committee on appropriation presented at the committee of wages and supply during plenary.

Presenting the report of the Appropriation committee, the chairman Aliyu Baba Manu representing Gombe north Constituency said the increase is due to higher projections of funds from sources like statutory allocations, value-added tax, and independent revenue.

The recurrent expenditure has also increased by over 99 billion naira, while capital expenditure is over 264 billion naira.

After thorough deliberation and clause-by-clause consideration, the House passed the supplementary budget bill into law.

The Speaker, Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, commended the Appropriations Committee for their work and thanked all the members for their contributions, as well as the Assembly staff for their support.
