The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the distribution of sensitive material for governorship and state assembly election in Yobe.
While addressing journalists during the distribution of material at the premises of the Central Bank office in Damaturu, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Yobe state Ibrahim Abdullahi said the Commission has taken measures to address hitches experienced during the Presidential election to prevent recurrence.
Ibrahim Abdullahi who assured the readiness of INEC to provide a level playing ground for all to thrive also appealed to political parties to play by the rules and respect the provisions of the electoral act.
On the Yobe South Senatorial elections declared inconclusive, the Resident Electoral Commissioner explained that the position of the commission would be annonced on when to conduct election in the area affected.
It would be recall that INEC has cancelled the Yobe South Senatorial election result for a polling unit at Manawaci in Fika local government area due to observed descripances.
