Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Adamawa State Chapter, has congratulated Alhassan Yahaya Abdullahi on his emergence as the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
His victory was announced during the 8th Triennial National Delegates Conference held in Owerri, Imo State.
In a statement signed by the Chairperson, Rose Anthony Elishama, and Secretary, Gloria Abutu, NAWOJ Adamawa also extended its felicitations to Mrs. Abimbola Oyetunde, the first female Deputy National President, and Zare Baba, Vice President, Zone E.
The association praised all the newly elected officers for earning the trust and confidence of members of the union.
The statement emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the NUJ’s mission, urging the new leadership to uphold values that strengthen and enhance the union’s vibrancy.
NAWOJ Adamawa reaffirmed its support and expressed optimism for a stronger and more progressive NUJ under the new leadership.
NAWOJ Adamawa wished the officers a successful tenure, describing their election as a significant milestone for the journalism profession in Nigeria.
