A Bauchi based Non Governmental Organization, Sharing Education for Life and Learning SELL foundation, has organized a workshop for couples in Bauchi aimed at strengthening family cohesion being a foundation for lasting peace in society.
Speaking at the commencement of the training, the Coordinator of the organization, Mr. Benjamin Jibe, noted that the workshop was designed to bring about enduring peace through stronger family units.
Jibe emphasized that a society built on family cohesion can effectively combat social vices and foster positive changes among couples, which would ultimately be reflected in the wider community.
The Coordinator further disclosed that the foundation has also been empowering women and youth through training in Smart Agriculture.
The initiative, he explained, is to expose them to various modern farming activities to help families achieve bumper harvests despite the challenges posed by climate change.
Some of the participants interviewed Kasim Aliyu and Grace Yunusa, described the training as timely.
They noted that society has neglected its core values, leading to negative changes, and promised to step down the knowledge acquired to benefit their communities.
