Nigerian Army rescues two kidnap victims in Taraba state.

Troops of Six Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector Three Operation Whirl Stroke, in collaboration with other security agencies in Taraba state, have rescued two kidnap victims and arrested three suspected kidnappers.

 

 

In a statement released to newsmen by Commander, Six Brigade Jalingo, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, stated that the Army having carried out proper investigation raided mountain Adamu kabiti in Lau Local Government Area and rescued the kidnap victims.

 

 

 

According to the statement, the intense operation forced the criminals to flee abandoning their hostages, while the three suspects Haruna Buba, Hassan Kakale and Hussaini Kakale were arrested on the spot.

 

 

The statement disclosed that the rescued victims, Hauwa’u Alh Umaru and Asma’u Alh Umaru, who were abducted on 7th July 2024, were immediately taken to the Brigade’s Headquarters for psychological and medical support and thereafter were handed over to their families.

 

 

While handing over the victims to their families, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa commended the troops for their bravery and reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to the safety and security of residents in Taraba state.

 

 

In another development, troops of the Six Brigade Nigerian Army sector three have discovered the lifeless bodies of two notorious kidnappers operating within Southern Taraba and parts of Nassarrawa state.

 

 

 

A statement by Commander, Six Brigade Jalingo, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, revealed that troops were alerted by the sound of sporadic shooting in Chinkai, Wukari local government area of Taraba state.

 

 

He said on arriving the scene, they discovered the bodies of Alhaji Gana and his brother, who they suspect were killed during a shootout by a rivalry terrorist group.

 

“Gana’s brother who engages in the same acts of terrorism( kidnapping, armed robbery, gun running, etc) with him was also killed”.

 

 

He mentioned that some suspects arrested in connection with the incident are currently being interrogated and will be handed over to appropriate authorities for further investigation.

 

 

The Commander said the recent development reiterates their dedication towards combating terrorism and any form of criminality in the state.

 

 

Brigadier General Uwa, therefore, charged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces by providing timely information to help curb any criminal activities in the state.
