The Pediatric Association of Nigeria (PAN) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) organized a road walk in Gombe State as part of the activities lined up for the Association’s Conference, PANConf 2025.
The road walk, which started at the Emir of Gombe Palace, was attended by the Chief of UNICEF’s Bauchi Field office Dr. Nuzhat Rafique.
Dr. Rafique expressed her pleasure in participating in the event, highlighting the strong collaboration between PAN and UNICEF in advancing child health.
Dr. Rafique emphasized that PAN is a key partner of UNICEF, as both organizations share a commitment to improving the lives of children.
She noted that the ongoing three-day PANConf 2025 in Gombe features a range of activities focused on child health, survival, and newborn care.
The conference includes workshops and programs on neonatal resuscitation, newborn support, and respiratory care for children, underscoring the importance of training and human resource development in these areas.
Dr. Rafique acknowledged PAN’s significant role in promoting child health and ensuring newborn survival, which she described as crucial for the development of future generations in Nigeria.
The road walk concluded at Pantami Stadium, where Dr. Rafique joined participants in a fitness exercise, further solidifying the collaborative efforts of PAN and UNICEF.PANConf 2025 is themed “Intersectoral Collaboration in Advancing Child Health and Development,” reflecting the focus on cooperative strategies to enhance the well-being of children.
