Director General, Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency, PAWECA, Adamawa State, Micheal Zira has re-echoed the State Government’s commitment to empowering about 10,000 youths annually through skills acquisition.
Zira at a press briefing in Yola, emphasized that promoting self-reliance among youths will significantly contribute to addressing security challenges and boosting the revenue of the state.
In line with this, PAWECA will commence the distribution of enrollment forms for candidates interested in training at Technical Training Trades Centres across the state.
He said interested candidates are to meet PAWECA Desk Officers at their various Local Government Areas for profiling, adding that the forms are Free and the exercise will commence on Monday, 10 March and ends on Tuesday 11 March, 2025 while training commences after Ramadan.
Zira stressed that eligible candidates range from 18 to 40 years with a minimum of Secondary School Certificate and must have 70 percent attendance during the training.
He pointed out that after profiling, the interested candidates will undergo a needs assessment and common entrance examinations to assess their reading and writing abilities.
The PAWECA Boss, Michael Zira stated that official letters would be sent to Chairmen of the 21 LGAs and 224 Ward Councillors for proper orientation and enlightenment to meet up the expected number of enrollees.
