Police Community Relation Committee Adamawa state chapter solicits partnership with Radio Nigeria in Yola

Police Community Relation Committee Adamawa state chapter has solicited a partnership with Radio Nigeria Fombina FM to create awareness regarding Its activities in the state and the nation at large.

The zone 3 interim secretary of the association Prince Sa’ad Ibrahim Gurin sought the partnership during a courtesy visit to the management of Radio Nigeria Fombina Fm in Yola.

The secretary Police Community Relation Committee Adamawa state chapter Prince Sa’ad Gurin explained that the committee aims to bridge the gap between the police and the community by fostering cooperation and understanding in society.

According to him, the organization has been in existence for 39 years, since 1984, stressing the importance of the community’s involvement in policing, as different regions have different cultures and traditions that affect law enforcement approaches.

He further explained that the Police Community Relation Committee’s creation was intended to support the police in their work, considering the varying dynamics of different communities.

Sa’ad Gurin also mentioned that the tenure of the state EXCOs of the committee expired last month and an election to elect new executives will be conducted, adding that many divisions within the organization do not have a duly elected executive, which often prevents them from participating in state elections, hence the appointment of caretaker committee under the chairmanship of Mr Samaila maikyau.

He therefore emphasized the need for support and cooperation from various stakeholders, especially the media, to ensure that the rural populace is aware of the committee’s work.

Earlier speaking the chairman of the PCRC caretaker committee Mr Samaila Maiyau expressed gratitude to the radio station for the opportunity to speak about the organization and sought for more collaboration in the future.

Responding on behalf of the General Manager, Dahiru Garba Mohammed, the head of programs Hajiya Zainab Umar commended the committee and assured them of support whenever the need arises.

Those eligible to contest for a position in the Police Community Relation Committee are registered and card-carrying members who are registered with the Police Community Relation Committee organization in Adamawa state and have the newly redesigned PCRC advocate registered member card.
