State2State encourages Stakeholders in Adamawa State financial institutions to take ownership of its financial audit support for rapid development of the State.

Enhanced financial audit performance has been identified as a major tool for fostering accountability, transparency, and good governance in financial management within public and government institutions.

A Facilitating Consultant with State2State, Professor Chiwuike Uba, made this assertion at a three-day training session on Reviewing Financial Audit Manual and Checklist for auditors in various levels of financial institutions in Yola, Adamawa State.

The financial expert, Professor Chiwuike Uba, emphasized the importance of auditors adhering to the ethics of their duties and charged them to do the right thing at the right time to enhance financial audit performance and boost internally generated revenue.

State2State Local Government Manager, Iheanyi Iheke, cautioned auditors to be conflict-sensitive while carrying out their duties and stressed the need for auditors to understand control risks to avoid any negative impacts.

Advocating for inclusion in financial audit practices, State2State Gender Coordinator, Chabiyada Eli, stated that Gender Equality and Social Inclusion improve access to livelihood assets and services for all, and stressed the need to support gender inclusion for rapid development.

Participants drawn from the Office of the Auditor General, Adamawa State, the Local Government Auditor General’s Office, and the Adamawa State House of Assembly, noted that the training was apt, and pledged to utilize the knowledge gained to enhance financial audit performance.

Explaining the objective of the Review of Financial Audit Manual and Checklists, Adamawa State Team Lead for State2State, Suzanne Myada, stated that State2State supports government activities for enhanced performance.

She encouraged members of the Adamawa State financial institutions to take ownership of the support for the sustainable growth and development of the state.

State2State is a USAID-funded project that supports government in the key priority sectors of education, health, water sanitation and hygiene.
