Taraba state government leverages agriculture to increase Internally Generated Revenue.

Taraba state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has announced plans to enhance Internally Generated Revenue by leveraging agriculture, mineral exploration, tourism, and improved tax collection systems.

The governor made the announcement in his new year message at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital.

The governor said his administration has strengthened security across all 168 wards in the state through Joint Intelligence Network and expansion of the Taraba Marshall, as well as improved health care through the construction of health facilities and free medical care for pregnant women and children.

He explained that his administration will strengthen tertiary education by reviewing academic programmes and revolutionize agriculture by supporting farmers with modern farm equipment and inputs, adding that 3,500 metric tons of assorted grains have been purchased for distribution in the state

The governor also emphasized the importance of promoting justice and good governance, establishing legal frameworks, modernizing courts, and promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution to ensure swift and equitable access to justice.

Governor Agbu Kefas expressed confidence that 2025 will be a year of greatness for Taraba State with the commitment of his administration and the support of every Taraban.
