Taraba State Government has teamed up with UNESCO WHV-2024 to provide free medical services to residents of Gashaka Local Government Area in the state.

This initiative includes the donation of medications and medical supplies to several primary healthcare centres in Gashaka Local Government.

During the program, Governor Agbu Kefas, represented by Commissioner for Heritage and Ecotourism, Joseph Titus Nagombe emphasized that the outreach is an essential service for the community.

He highlighted that the free medical examinations and tests offered to local residents will address minor complications aside from major health issues such as cancer and kidney diseases.

Governor Kefas pointed out that the motivation for this initiative stems from his commitment to enhancing the health of his people.

He said the difficult economic conditions in the country often leave vulnerable populations struggling with medical expenses, and as such, he seized the opportunity presented by UNESCO WHV-2024 to provide medical assistance.

The event was graced by the Lamdo of Gashaka, Dr. Zubairu Hammangabdo Sambo, who expressed his delight and offered his blessings for the programme.
