Taraba State Government receives twenty thousand bags of rice from Dangote Foundation.

Taraba state government has received 20,000 bags of 10kg rice donated by Dangote Foundation as part of its ongoing national food intervention programme aimed at alleviating the suffering of Nigerians.

The bags of rice were formally handed over to the Taraba State Palliative Care Committee for onward distribution to the 16 local government areas across the state.

 

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Group General Manager of Operations at Dangote Sugar Refinery, Alhaji Bello Dan Musa who represented the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote explained that the donation was a demonstration of Dangote’s commitment to giving back to society and reducing the burden on vulnerable communities.

“The rice is part of our national food intervention efforts to support communities and cushion the effects of hardship across the country,” he said.

The Chairman of the Taraba State Palliative Care Committee, Alhaji Saleh Saad, received the items on behalf of the state government and expressed deep appreciation to the Dangote Foundation.

He noted that the donation aligns with the humanitarian focus of Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration.

 

“Dangote has shown immense compassion and love to the people of Taraba. We thank him for this timely intervention and urge other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate his example,” Saad stated, assuring that the distribution would be carried out fairly and transparently across all local government areas.”

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu Hassan Jauro, thanked the Dangote Foundation for its generosity emphasizing that the donation would be beneficial and would undoubtedly reach those in need.

 

“This gesture from the Dangote Foundation is highly commendable. The local governments are indeed overwhelmed with gratitude,” Jauro said.

The state government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the donated items reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently and equitably.
