Taraba State gov’t promises improved welfare for military personnel

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has pledged to provide better welfare for military personnel and their families.

The Governor made the pledge at the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo, Taraba State.

Governor Agbu Kefas, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Timothy Kataps, said the selflessness and unwavering dedication of the army in securing freedom and providing security for all Nigerians has remained commendable noting that his administration would honour their sacrifices by prioritising their well-being.

The Governor further pointed out that their bravery is a reminder that the freedom Nigerians celebrate is not free but it’s earned and sustained by the blood, sweat and tears of all those who have committed themselves to safeguard the peace, unity and sovereignty of Nigeria.

The Governor praised the families of the fallen heroes, particularly their wives, for their support and encouragement, describing them as the real heroes who deserve true appreciation.

He also applauded the resilience and professionalism of serving army officers, highlighting their commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property of every Taraban.

The Governor explained that the efforts of his government in collaboration with security agencies in the state have curtailed kidnapping, banditry, cattle rustling, and other social vices, underscoring his commitment to maintaining peace in Taraba State.

In honour of the fallen heroes, Governor Agbu Kefas laid wreaths and donated the sum of fifty million naira on behalf of the people of Taraba State.
