Troops of six Brigade/Sector 3 operation Whirl Stroke have apprehended a suspected kidnapper’s informat in Sondi village in Wukari local government area of Taraba state.
In a statement released to newsmen by Acting Assistant Director, Six Brigade Army Public Relations, Captain Olubodunde Oni explained that the suspect identified as Miss Grace Markus who provided information to suspected kidnappers was arrested on the 6th of September 2024 after troops conducted an intelligence-driven operation.
“She is believed to be the girlfriend of a notorious kidnapper known as Chen, who has been terrorizing the area.”
According to the statement, Miss Grace is currently in custody undergoing further investigation to establish the extent of her involvement in crime.
In a similar operation, troops have intercepted a Blue Toyota Yaris vehicle with Registration Number, Taraba KLD 652 XA.
The vehicle which was heading to Jalingo from Wukari, contained an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine two identity cards belonging to individuals affiliated to the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW Mutum Biyu Office, Gassol local government area.
“Investigations are ongoing to trace and apprehend the suspects and determine the involvement of individuals with the recovered identity cards.”
Commending the troops for their professionalism and swift action, Brigadier Commander, Six Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa emphasised that the Brigade is committed to maintaining peace and security in Taraba state.
