UN-OCHA SUSPENDED HUMANITARIAN ACTIVITIES IN ADAMAWA STATE

Following the suspension of activities of Local and International, Non Governmental Organizations, NGOs in Adamawa State by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri until 15th March, 2023, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs UN-OCHA has directed that all field activities be suspended.

A statement by UN-OCHA Head of Sub-Office, Adamawa state, Moseray Sesay said the agency is working with the state government to ensure lifesaving activities continue.

According to the statement, OCHA is working with the State Government to understand the cause of the allegations and to ensure that humanitarian operations, in particular, critical lifesaving activities can continue as soon as possible and to ensure the safety and security of national and international NGO staff and their assets in the state.
