Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has joined friends and well wishers to felicitate his chief of staff, Doctor Edgar Amos Sunday as he celebrated his 60th birthday and successful retirement from the civil service.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was the special guest of honour at the event which held at the banquet hall government house Yola, was represented by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described Doctor Edgar Amos as a hardworking person who is always achieving goals and targets given to him at any time.
” Thank you very much for coming out to celebrate with our brother, a helper and a coworker”
Governor Fintiri expressed believe in the confidence he has in his chief of staff as part of the team running the affairs of the state.
The governor, on behalf of the government and people of the state wished the chief of staff God’s guidance and prayed that life will be more favorable to him as he turns 60.
” The reward for hard work is more work, so usually when you are identified in the civil service as someone who can deliver the goals of your principal, when a target is given and you achieved it, the reward is to give you more targets. That is what is happening in the life of our brother”.
The governor maintained that the Chief of Staff has recorded tremendous achievement and is still achieving as he shifted from the civil service to the executive side of the government because he has proven to be trustworthy.
The governor equally appreciated all the guests for coming out to celebrate with the Chief of Staff.
In his welcome address, chairman of the occasion and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustafa described Dr. Edgar Amos as a hardworking person who is always up to the task assigned to him.
He said words cannot describe Edgar Amos because of his dedication, hard work and commitment to duty, as he never disappoints in whatever capacity he serves, hence the need to describe him as a go- getter and a goal achiever.
He therefore called on the Chief of Staff to sustain the legacies he achieved as the people around him are looking up to his achievements.
Welcoming guests who attended the event, Boss Mustapha thanked the governor of the state for giving him the honour to serve as Chairman of the occasion.
In their separate good will messages, former head of service doctor Louis Mandama, the present head of service Pharmacist Isa Shehu Ardo, the NLC Chairman Adamawa State chapter, Emmanuel Fashe and other speakers described the celebrant as a disciplined personality and a straight forward person who always displays objectivity in handling issues.
They wished him success in his endeavours as they appreciated his contributions to the state in different capacities.
During the event, there was a public lecture with the topic: “Identity, Diversity and Solidarity: Case for a National Praxis” delivered by the guest speaker and Vice Chancellor, Federal University kashere Professor Umar Pate,
where he spoke extensively on fostering unity and tolerance among the people for the development of the country.
Dignitaries as well as family, friends and well wishers from all walks of life graced the colorful event.
