The Nigerian Bar Association NBA Adamawa State Branch, has held its annual meeting with the title, 2024 LAW week, in memory of late Justice Buba Ardo.
The event which was held in Yola the Adamawa state capital, was themed “The Role of the Bar And The Bench in Regards To Access to Justice and National Development.”
Highlighting the purpose of the annual meeting, the chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association NBA Adamawa State, Barrister Idi Haladu Esq. Said it was an opportunity for lawyers and judges to sit together to take an inward look at issues they work on, to evaluate on successes and challenges, for correction and improvement.
Barrister Haladu added that the event, was also to immortalize Justice Buba Ardo the first in the northeast and Adamawa state in particular, to hold the position of justice of the supreme court and the chief judge in the state.
In a good will message the Adamawa state Chief Judge, Justice Hafsa Abdurrahman, said the occasion was apt and timely and applauded the efforts of the Nigerian Bar Association for their foresight.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Adamawa State Barrister Afraimo Jingi represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Barrister Isuwa Misali, said a meeting between lawyers and judges helps to bridge the gap created in the dispensation of justice and further improve their commitment towards diligence.
There were other goodwill messages from grand kadis, retired and serving justices male and female lawyers and other invited guests.
