Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has directed the immediate implementation of outstanding promotions for civil servants in the state, with a firm assurance that all affected workers will receive their financial benefits before the end of May.

The governor gave the directive when he received the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Adamawa State chapter, during a courtesy visit at Government House, Yola.
While stressing that the Accountant General must ensure full payment of all entitlements once promotion records are updated, Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s worker-friendly policy.

He noted that the government will continue to prioritize the welfare and career progression of civil servants as part of efforts to strengthen public service delivery and promote inclusive governance in the state.
Earlier in a remark, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Adamawa State, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, expressed condolences to the state government and families affected by the recent attack in Guyaku community of Gombi Local Government Area.

Fashe said organised labour shares in the grief of the people and stands firmly with the Governor in this difficult moment.
He described the visit as a show of solidarity, assuring the Governor of the continued support of workers across the state.

Comrade Fashe stated that labour remains committed to the administration, noting that the government has been worker-friendly and inclusive, with the appointment of labour leaders into key positions.
He urged the Governor to sustain the recorded gains by ensuring that his successor values workers and the welfare of the common people.
The Chairman also appreciated the administration’s support over the years and invited the Governor to attend the upcoming Workers’ Day celebration.
